FOUNDING PRINCIPAL

Ms. Addie Smith  launched LightSmith in 2024 as a Residential Lighting Design Studio. Her passion for the psychology of home - paired with a keen knowledge of materials, design theory, aesthetics, LED technology, luminaires, the physics of illumination, dimming controls, and architectural integration - leads to beautiful, personal results.

With over 14 years of experience at renown lighting design firms in New York, Chicago and Denver, Addie has worked on residential projects from coast to coast. Her experience brings sophisticated ingenuity, elevated practicality, and a technical eye for creative problem solving. She specializes in conceptualization, visual design, and detailed implementation of architectural, decorative, and landscape lighting for the home.

Addie is a Certified Lighting Designer set by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) with a degree in Interior Design, and holds a Certificate in Design Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of light, Addie is a proud dog mom to Winston, a fine artist,

and a chorus girl jazz dancer. She’s currently obsessing over digital art in Procreate, and living her best loft life.
